We're seasoned data scientists and growth operators who have watched brands waste budget using bad numbers. That inspired us to build the measurement and forecasting platform that would help marketers propel their brands forward.
Our story
It started by predicting
a number-one hit
We started in music. In 2019, we were building a marketing mix model for record labels that would tell them which songs to push, where to send the tour, and how to time a release. All three questions had the same underlying problem: standard attribution could not see the channels driving the most real impact. That meant "data-driven decisions" were made on incomplete information. So we built our first model to fix that. In April 2020, we used it to predict which song from a major album release would hit number one on Billboard. We got it right, with 96.3% accuracy.
Then live touring stopped overnight. COVID closed every venue, and the market we were serving disappeared. So we asked a sharper question: where does this measurement blindness hurt most? The answer was ecommerce. DTC brands were making million-dollar decisions on click-based tools that ignored anything a pixel couldn't see. Teams defunded awareness, brand campaigns, and upper-funnel spend based on data that was wrong in ways they couldn't detect. Cody joined as CTO, fresh off years of building machine learning systems for marketing measurement at Grubhub, and we rebuilt the model from the ground up for the ecommerce problem.
